It is not just about entertainment, but about creating an unforgettable experience and boosting the township economy when Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban, hosts the highly anticipated event on 19 December 2026.
Ward councillor Siyazwana Mzimela welcomed dignitaries and members of the media, highlighting the importance of protecting events that create opportunities for local businesses and communities.
“I like this event because it develops the township economy. We must protect it while creating opportunities as government,” he said, calling for continued support for township economic development.
Main sponsor Spar, represented by Njabulo Magwaza, reaffirmed its commitment to the event, saying it remained important to KwaMashu and surrounding communities. Spar has supported the event for 12 years, with tickets set to be available at Spar KwaMashu.

INK Chairperson Futhi said the organisation, through its tourism affiliation, hoped the event would eventually become a week-long celebration rotating between different townships. The organisers also aim to grow attendance from 12,000 people to the stadium’s full capacity.
Kaslam Events representative Nathi Ngwenya unveiled a star-studded line-up featuring Scotts Maphuma, J’Something (Java), Kevin Momo, DJ Zinhle, Emtee, Boom Shaka, Swaziland’s Sweech Umlangeni and It’sAllBlaq. He said organisers were working to improve the movement of people entering and leaving the stadium.
Artist Ntokozo Zakwe thanked the organisers for their warm treatment and welcomed the recognition artists continued to receive from local audiences.
Philani Ngwenya, popularly known as Splash and chairperson of the KwaMashu Taxi Association, encouraged young people to build businesses rather than depend solely on government funding. He credited the late music icon Mampintsha for inspiring him to support musicians and recalled bringing Black Coffee to the township.
Gagasi FM was also introduced as a media partner, while organisers promised tight security.
The invitation is clear: meet at Princess Magogo Stadium on 19 December 2026 for music, community pride and township economic growth.
