Former SABC sports presenter and music rights activist Owen Ndlovu is reportedly missing after allegedly being kidnapped at gunpoint in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, on Tuesday night.

The incident reportedly happened at around 20:00 on 15 September while Ndlovu was collecting his wife, Portia, from a church service.

According to reports, three armed men approached the vehicle, allegedly forced Ndlovu into his Ford Raptor and drove away.
His wife reportedly witnessed the incident and expressed fear for his safety. Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects.

The Ford Raptor was later reportedly recovered in Walkerville, south of Johannesburg, but had allegedly been stripped. Ndlovu’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Ndlovu is known for his work as an SABC sports presenter and commentator and for his involvement in the music industry and artists’ rights.

Police have not confirmed a motive for the alleged kidnapping, and there is no confirmed link between the incident and Ndlovu’s ongoing disputes involving SAMRO.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities search for Ndlovu and the suspects.
