Endumeni Local Municipality has successfully handed over Phase 3 of the Kunene Farm Electrification Project in Ward 7, connecting more than 90 households to electricity.
The project is expected to improve safety, support learners with their studies and give families access to essential electrical appliances, while creating opportunities for social and economic development.
During the handover, Mayor Cllr A.M. Mkhize acknowledged that more than 250 households in the area are still awaiting electricity connections.
Mayor Mkhize assured residents that Phase 4 will commence soon and will focus on connecting the remaining households.
“The successful completion of Phase 3 demonstrates our commitment to accelerating service delivery and improving the lives of our people,” said Mkhize.
The municipality says it will continue working with stakeholders to ensure the next phase is successfully implemented and residents are kept informed.
