ActionSA KwaZulu-Natal has visited the family of the community member who was fatally struck by an eThekwini Municipality water tanker, reaffirming its support for the grieving relatives while renewing calls for justice and accountability.
The visit took place at the family’s home, where ActionSA leaders and members donated groceries as a gesture of solidarity during their time of mourning. The family thanked the delegation for the support, saying it had brought them comfort during an incredibly difficult period.
Despite their appreciation, family members said their greatest hope remains that justice will be served for their loved one. They called on authorities to ensure that a thorough investigation into the fatal incident is conducted and that those responsible are held accountable.
ActionSA said the tragedy has highlighted ongoing concerns surrounding municipal water tanker operations and the broader challenges faced by communities that rely on water deliveries. The party reiterated that no family should have to lose a loved one while accessing a basic service.
The party extended its condolences to the bereaved family, pledging to continue standing with them and advocating for accountability, safer service delivery, and justice for the deceased.
