Former Free State MEC and current Member of the Free State Legislature, Thembeni Nxagisa, has passed away following a period of illness.
Nxagisa served as the Free State MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) from May 2019 to October 2021 before being appointed MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development. Following his departure from the provincial cabinet, he continued serving as a Member of the Free State Legislature.
His passing has been met with sadness across the province, where he was widely recognised for his years of public service and dedication to the people of the Free State.
The Nxagisa family is expected to announce details of his memorial service and funeral arrangements in due course.
