The Point Desk Youth Crime Prevention unit yesterday rolled out its 7th visibility motorcade for 2026, marking another bold step in the fight against crime in the city. The initiative brought together community stakeholders, law enforcement, and security partners to raise awareness among residents and students about the growing threats they face—particularly gender-based violence (GBV).
With sirens echoing through the streets, the motorcade served as both a warning to criminals and a message of unity and vigilance. The campaign was made possible through strong collaboration with the Point CPF Executive, led by Chairperson Mr Cebekhulu, alongside SAPS and several private security companies.
In a major boost for local crime-fighting efforts, the community also welcomed the appointment of Colonel Ntuli as the permanent station commander of Point police station. Known for his hands-on leadership and strong community ties, Ntuli is expected to strengthen partnerships and drive impactful safety initiatives.
These coordinated efforts are set to benefit Point sectors 1, 2, and 3, reinforcing a shared vision of a safer, more informed community for both residents and students.
