PHOENIX, KZN — A frightening crash on Old Main Road near Woodview in Phoenix left five children and two adults injured on Monday, 26 October 2026, after the maroon Suzuki Ertiga they were travelling in collided with a tree.
The incident sparked concern among passing motorists, who reportedly contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) to alert emergency services.
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found paramedics from a private ambulance service attending to the injured occupants and stabilising them.
The sight of several children among those hurt made the incident particularly distressing, highlighting the vulnerability of young passengers on the road.
The circumstances leading up to the crash had not been established at the time of reporting.
As emergency personnel responded to the scene, the priority remained ensuring that those injured received the necessary medical attention.
