KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has issued a firm call for political maturity and tolerance as parties gear up for the 4 November 2026 Local Government Elections.

Ntuli was speaking on Tuesday, 22 September, while chairing the Multi-Party Political Intervention Committee meeting at the Archie Gumede Conference Centre in Mayville, eThekwini.

The committee is tasked with promoting political tolerance, stability and peaceful coexistence among political parties, particularly during the campaign and election period.

The Premier warned that violence, intimidation and political intolerance would not be tolerated, saying law enforcement would deal with acts of lawlessness.

Ntuli also urged political parties to use the committee to resolve disputes through constructive engagement and help ensure free and fair elections across the province.

This committee is here to promote fair competition and engagement as we approach the Local Government Elections in November.
