A woman was found dead at a residence in Greylands, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday after an alleged domestic dispute that reportedly took place the previous evening.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers responded after the property owner requested assistance when the woman’s body was discovered inside the home.
Preliminary information indicates that the woman and her husband had allegedly been involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation on Sunday evening.
It was further reported that similar incidents had allegedly occurred in the past and that the couple regularly consumed alcohol.
Concerned when the woman was not seen on Monday morning, the property owner’s father and another tenant entered the residence to conduct a wellness check.
They found her lying unresponsive on a bed in one of the bedrooms.

RUSA paramedics examined the woman and observed slight bruising to her face and the right side of her chest. An open bottle of tablets was also found in the room.The exact cause of death has not yet been established.
The woman’s husband could not be located following the discovery.
The Tongaat SAPS have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death. Police investigations are ongoing.
