New Royale Union Saint-Gilloise attacker Relebohile Mofokeng has playfully taken a swipe at Kaizer Chiefs saying they will finally get to breathe because he left Orlando Pirates.
Mofokeng, 21, recently completed a move to the Belgian side on a four-year contract with an option to renew for a year, leaving a side he has been at since May 2023.
During the five Soweto derbies against Chiefs he was a menace, scoring one goal and provided three assists.
Speaking at his farewell dinner in the presence of his parents and national teammate Oswin Appollis, the South African international promised to stay dedicated at his new side while equally teasing Chiefs.
“I’m going to keep it short,” said Mofokeng.
“I’ll just say that I’m going to make you proud. I’m going to try my best to give my all just like I did at Pirates. And I think Kaizer Chiefs will finally breathe.”
