
A dramatic early morning police operation in KwaZulu-Natal took an unexpected turn when a suspected armed robber believed to be dead suddenly regained consciousness while forensic investigators were processing the crime scene.According to preliminary reports, police officers engaged three suspected armed robbers in a shootout after tracking the suspects during an intelligence-driven operation.
Two of the suspects were fatally wounded during the exchange of gunfire.A third suspect was also shot and initially showed no signs of life. Authorities reportedly believed he had died from his injuries and the scene was secured for forensic examination.

However, while crime scene experts were taking photographs and documenting evidence, the suspect unexpectedly regained consciousness, stunning officers and investigators present.Emergency medical personnel were immediately called back to the scene and the suspect was rushed to hospital under heavy police guard. His condition remains unclear.
Police have not yet released the identities of the suspects pending further investigation and notification of next of kin.The incident happened at KwaMsane just after midnight on Tuesday. Authorities are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootout, including the events that led to the confrontation. A firearm recovery and ballistic analysis are expected to form part of the ongoing investigation. The case remains under police investigation.
