Hammarsdale – The eagerly awaited Icebolethu Foundation eKasi Business Fair kicked off on Saturday at Junction Mall in Hammarsdale, attracting entrepreneurs, community leaders, and residents who were
excited to honor township businesses. The first day of the event began on a spiritual and uplifting note with a worship session led by Kwazi Mkhize, which set a reflective atmosphere for the gathering. Programme Director Mr. Simo Nzama greeted the attendees, while Rev. Musa Kubheka offered the opening prayer.

In her address to the audience, Icebolethu Group CEO Dr. Nomfundo Mcoyi-Zondo highlighted the
significance of township economies in fostering South Africa’s development. She informed the attendees
that the fair represents more than just a venue for small businesses. “We are not only here to discuss business,” she stated. “We are here to create a lasting legacy of sustainable success for our community.”

The fair is designed to empower local entrepreneurs, foster networking opportunities, and promote
businesses based in townships. Organisers have indicated that the event will proceed over the next few days with exhibitions, discussions, and chances for emerging businesses.
