National March Begins Under Heavy Police Presence in Durban

Durban is under heavy police watch as law enforcement officers gather at King Dinuzulu Park ahead of the national march calling for stronger action against undocumented immigrants. Officers conducted a parade at the assembly point on Tuesday morning as part of security preparations, with police maintaining a visible presence to ensure public safety and order.

Authorities remained on high alert while waiting for more participants to arrive before the march officially began. Police are expected to escort the marchers along the approved route and monitor the event to prevent any incidents.

One of the participants, Sanele Zulu, said the demonstration is intended to send a clear message to government.

«”We are here to make a mark that we don’t need illegal immigrants in our country. We wish our government will listen to us and speed up the repatriation process, so that we can live in peace in our cities,” he said.»

Organisers have maintained that the march is intended to be peaceful and have encouraged participants to obey the law and cooperate with law enforcement officials throughout the demonstration. Police have urged both marchers and members of the public to remain calm and avoid any actions that could disrupt public order as the event gets underway.
