KZN Police Rescue Kidnapped Principal After Overnight Ordeal

A 55-year-old school principal who was abducted from her home in KwaMakhutha has been safely rescued following a swift police operation in KwaZulu-Natal.The woman was taken late last night after five armed men allegedly followed her to her residence in a Toyota Avanza.

While the suspects failed to steal her vehicle, they ransacked the home, taking various items before forcing her into their vehicle and fleeing the scene.Authorities have confirmed that the suspects also gained access to the victim’s bank accounts during the ordeal, withdrawing an undisclosed amount of money overnight.

A coordinated effort between KwaMakhutha SAPS detectives and the Inanda SAPS Task Team led officers to a suspected hideout in Newtown A on Sunday afternoon. Although the suspects had already fled the premises, police made a breakthrough when they discovered the victim inside the house.She was found alone, seated on a mattress with her hands tied, indicating she had been held captive for several hours.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and the woman is expected to undergo a full medical examination to assess her physical condition following the traumatic experience.Police also recovered a stolen television believed to have been taken during the home invasion.A manhunt has been launched for the suspects, and investigations are ongoing.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as efforts intensify to bring those responsible to justice.
