Fan favourite Ashay Sewlall’s journey on Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa came to an emotional end on Sunday night after viewers voted him out just days before the finale.
Sewlall, who hails from Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal, had been one of the strongest competitors in the house this season. Known to fans as “Paprika,” he built a reputation as a strategic and competitive housemate, famously winning the Head of House title three weeks in a row — a rare feat that briefly placed him firmly in control of the game.
Despite his strong run, Sewlall fell short of securing a place in the final as the public vote ultimately determined his fate.
He was evicted alongside returning contestant Mmeli Khumalo, whose quieter gameplay stood in contrast to Sewlall’s competitive approach. Khumalo largely stayed out of the house’s louder conflicts, with much of his storyline centred on his close friendship with fellow housemate Thandeka Tshabalala.
Their exit leaves only six contestants battling for the grand prize as the competition enters its final stage.
The remaining housemates are Thandeka, Lindy “Trixie” Christoffels, Liyema “Liema” Pantsi, Velile “Que” Nongogo, Didintle “Didi” Mothobi and Pantsi “Bravo B” Khumalo.
