Chesterville: KwaZulu-Natal – A truck transporting Sunlight products and Red Bull was reportedly looted in Chesterville on Thursday, prompting a police response as authorities worked to restore order.
According to initial reports, police arrived at the scene after members of the public allegedly began helping themselves to the truck’s cargo.
The exact circumstances that led to the incident have not yet been confirmed, and police remain at the scene as investigations continue.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes due to disruptions caused by the incident.
A passerby, who declined to be named, said the situation unfolded rapidly.
“When people saw the truck stopped, crowds quickly gathered. Within minutes, many were taking items from the truck. It was chaotic, and even after police arrived, it took time to bring the situation under control,” the witness said.
Police have not yet released details on whether any arrests have been made or the cause of the incident.
