Caption: Small business owners showcase their products at the Durban ICC during the 28th Durban Business Fair. The eThekwini Municipality hosted its 28th Durban Business Fair at the Durban ICC on Thursday, bringing together entrepreneurs, government leaders and industry stakeholders to support small businesses.

Minister of Small Business Development, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, officially launched the event and toured exhibition stands, engaging with local business owners about their products and services.The fair aims to help small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) grow by creating opportunities to network, attract customers and expand market reach.

Deputy head of SMME development, Nonku Msomi, said the platform was designed to empower entrepreneurs. “We are trying to encourage people to buy from local businesses, because this helps the growth of the economy,” she said.First-time exhibitor Mabhi Ndamane described the event as a valuable opportunity to promote her brand and gain new customers.

“I brought my order book so I can take orders directly,” she said.Lerato Mhlakwana added that the fair also allows businesses to build connections and recruit clients.Ndabeni-Abrahams thanked participants and urged residents to support local enterprises.
