Siboniso Duma praised the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) for their dedication at the #NenzaniLaEzweni Awards Ceremony. The operation, aimed at protecting families from reckless motorists, has earned recognition for its precision and effectiveness.

Duma expressed gratitude for community support across all racial lines, highlighting the collective effort behind safer roads. “God created happiness.

He designed humans to experience joy, pleasure, and delight. We want our RTI team to be happy and feel appreciated,” he said.

Addressing the devastating impact of road accidents, Duma noted that many families have suffered losses, with orphans, widows, and individuals living with disabilities resulting from crashes. “Road accidents are destroying the future of our young people,” he emphasized, stressing the long-term societal consequences.

The MEC celebrated RTI’s achievements, noting a historic 18% reduction in road fatalities during the festive season—the first significant decline in two decades. “This milestone is a testament to the hard work and vigilance of our RTI officers,” Duma remarked, urging continued community cooperation to maintain safer roads across the province.

The ceremony concluded with a message of hope, appreciation, and encouragement for the RTI team to continue protecting lives.
