March and March Movement protesters gathered in Durban on Monday, calling on SADC leaders attending the regional summit to address illegal immigration in South Africa.

March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma attempted to enter the SADC summit venue at the Durban ICC with a group of marchers to take their concerns directly to regional leaders.

The activists are demanding that SADC governments take responsibility for their citizens living in South Africa without legal documentation.

Ngobese-Zuma said the movement would not stop its campaign against undocumented foreign nationals until it achieves its objectives.

“We will not stop chasing foreigners until we win,” she said.

The protesters are calling for undocumented foreign nationals to return to their countries of origin, with the demonstration taking place as SADC heads of state and government attend the 46th Ordinary SADC Summit in Durban.
