Banyana Banyana goalkeeper Kaylin Swart was emotional after helping South Africa keep their FIFA Women’s World Cup dream alive with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria.

The win at the Moulay Prince Rachid Stadium in Morocco secured Banyana a place in the intercontinental World Cup play-offs.

Thembi Kgatlana and Refiloe Jane scored to give South Africa a strong lead, while Nigeria’s Christy Ucheibe scored a late penalty in stoppage time.

Swart played a major role in the victory and was named Player of the Match. She made two important saves in the second half to protect South Africa’s lead and help the team secure the crucial win.

Her performance came after she faced heavy criticism during the Wafcon tournament, particularly following the quarter-final defeat to Morocco. Some fans blamed her for conceding goals after coming off her line.
