Namibia international Peter Shalulile could be set for a surprise move to Zimbabwean top-flight ambituous side Scotland FC following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sundowns confirmed on Monday that they had parted ways with the prolific striker, bringing an end to a hugely successful six-year spell at Chloorkop.

The lanky Shalulile joined the Brazilians from Highlands Park in 2020 and went on to establish himself as one of the most lethal goalscorers in South African football.

During his time at Sundowns, the 31-year-old won numerous trophies, including the CAF Champions League, while cementing his status as one of the Premier Soccer League’s greatest strikers.

Shalulile leaves the club as the Betway Premiership’s all-time leading scorer with 136 league goals, surpassing the long-standing record previously held by Siyabonga “Bhele” Nomvethe.

The experienced forward is now being linked with Scotland FC, an ambitious club competing in the Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. The club is reportedly looking to challenge for honours this season after strengthening its squad with high-profile names.

Among its star players are former Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge Musona and ex-Sundowns and Chiefs star Khama Billiat. Musona first rose to prominence at Chiefs before enjoying a successful career abroad, while Billiat made his name at Ajax Cape Town before starring for Sundowns and later Chiefs.
