DURBAN NORTH – A woman was shot and killed in Parkhill, Durban North, on Wednesday evening in an incident that also left a motorcyclist injured and a child traumatised.
Marshall Security Armed Response officers and members of the company’s Special Operations Team responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area. On arrival, they found an adult woman inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. She was declared dead at the scene.
A child who was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting was not physically injured but was left severely traumatised by the incident.
A motorcyclist who was struck by gunfire during the shooting sustained injuries and is receiving medical treatment.
The scene was secured before being handed over to the South African Police Service. Greenwood Park police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
The motive for the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been reported.\
