A heartfelt video of footballer Jayden Adams celebrating his 25th birthday has resurfaced on social media following his tragic death over the weekend, drawing an outpouring of grief from fans across South Africa.
The clip, originally shared by his partner, Aqueelah Adendorf, captures an intimate surprise celebration held in May. Surrounded by balloons, rose petals and thoughtful gifts, including a PlayStation 5, Adams appears smiling and in high spirits as he enjoys the special occasion. The video has since attracted more than one million views, with many users remembering the Bafana Bafana midfielder for his talent and warm personality.
Police have opened an inquest into the circumstances surrounding Adams’ death. While reports have circulated about the cause, authorities have not announced any official findings.
The birthday celebration came only weeks before Adams earned a call-up to Bafana Bafana’s FIFA World Cup squad, marking what many believed would be another major milestone in his promising football career.
Adendorf has since broken her silence, sharing an emotional tribute in honour of her late partner. Messages of sympathy continue to flood social media as teammates, supporters and members of the football community remember Adams’ life, achievements and the lasting impact he made both on and off the field.
