Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has announced that her movement will stage protests every Thursday for the next six months to pressure the government to deport undocumented foreign nationals and strengthen the enforcement of immigration laws.
Addressing supporters, Ngobese-Zuma said the weekly demonstrations would continue until their demands are met. She claimed the action could have a significant economic impact if authorities fail to respond.
“From now on, the government must be prepared to lose R600 million every Thursday because we will keep marching every Thursday until the government removes all illegal foreigners,” she said.There has been no official response from the government to her latest remarks.
The planned demonstrations are expected to draw attention to ongoing public debate over immigration policy, with authorities likely to monitor the protests to ensure they remain peaceful and within the law.
