After a hiatus from the music scene, DJ Cndo has revealed that she is preparing a brief return to the studio, with plans to release an album featuring talented female artists from her home town of Mandeni.The award-winning DJ, who has been in the music industry for more than two decades, made the announcement before taking to the stage at Smirnoff 1818’s Makoya Imbizo at Berea Rovers in Durban on Saturday.
The entertainer, whose real name is Sindisiwe Zungu, said fans have long been asking her to release new music.“It’s not that I don’t love music anymore. I’ve simply had some personal matters to attend to. However, I can now confirm that I recently had a conversation with DJ Tira about returning to the studio. I’m working on a project involving local female artists with incredible singing talent. Fans can expect a surprise, and the music will carry the signature rhythm that DJ Cndo is known for,” she said.Cndo also expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support, saying they instilled in her a strong faith in God from an early age.
She further thanked DJ Tira and DJ Sox for standing by her throughout her career.Away from music, Cndo has built an impressive academic profile, holding qualifications in Nature Conservation and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health.She also previously owned a hair salon in Durban, which was forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic.
