News

A chilling house robbery in KwaZulu-Natal has escalated into a mass murder investigation after seven family members were found dead following a suspected kidnapping. According to South African Police Service, officers were initially alerted to a robbery at a residence on Tuesday night.

By Wednesday morning, concerns deepened when a domestic worker arrived at the home and discovered it empty, prompting a kidnapping case to be opened.A coordinated operation involving Newark SAPS, KwaDukuza SAPS detectives, the Tactical Response Team, Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Counter-Intelligence Kidnapping Task Team, Crime Intelligence, and private security companies led to swift breakthroughs.

Three suspects, all in their twenties, were arrested in Mandeni, and a firearm was recovered.Tragically, during the early hours of Thursday morning, the bodies of all seven victims were located. Police allege that the youngest victim, a 20-year-old woman, was raped at the house before the family was bound and forced into their vehicle.

She was reportedly assaulted again during the journey.Investigators suspect the motive may be linked to former employees of the family. Authorities say investigations remain ongoing.
