KwaXimba – A new chapter in digital empowerment has begun for residents of KwaXimba following the official opening of a Computer Skills Centre valued at R559,000.The initiative, a corporate social investment project by Metro FM, brings much-needed technological resources to the rural community.
The centre is equipped with 16 computers and JoJo tanks, ensuring both digital access and basic infrastructure support.Key stakeholders gathered to mark the milestone, including Dr Nomfundo Mcoyi, Siyanda Fikelephi, Councillor Thembo Ntuli, and Inkosi Ngaye Mlaba.
Speakers highlighted the centre as a gateway to opportunity, particularly for young people eager to gain computer literacy and improve their employment prospects.
Community members expressed excitement, noting that access to technology has long been a challenge in the area. The centre is expected to serve as a hub for learning, skills development, and community growth, bridging the digital divide and bringing KwaXimba closer to the modern economy.
