Former Ukhozi FM presenter bags R2.8m after dramatic comeback, accusations and a stunning comeback — former Ukhozi FM presenter Lucky Nkosi is back on his feet and R2.8 million richer.

Nkosi, who spent 22 years behind the mic, was dropped during the station’s annual shake-up in April — a move that shocked many of his loyal listeners. But behind the scenes, a fierce legal battle was brewing.

Speaking to Isolezwe, a daily newspaper in KZN, Nkosi revealed that his return to the classroom comes after he won a long-running court case linked to shocking allegations made against him in 2019.

“It started with rumours that criminals wanted to kill me,” he said. “Those rumours spread to my workplace, and suddenly colleagues claimed they were scared of me.”Nkosi said things quickly spiralled, with accusations of sexual harassment emerging — claims he insists were fabricated to destroy him.

“They wanted me gone. It was a conspiracy,” he said. The case dragged on for years — until March 31, when the court finally ruled in his favour. Within days, Nkosi was ordered back to work at Marianpark Primary in Marianhill, where he had been principal — and awarded a massive R2.8 million payout for lost income.

“All of this proves I was innocent,” he said.“It also shows the hand of God — everything happened at the same time as my radio career ended.” But Nkosi isn’t stopping there. He plans to stay in education for just three years before shifting gears again — this time into music and business.Fans can expect to see him perform at the Gauteng Meets KZN choral music festival on October 2. And with millions now in his pocket, Nkosi says he’s eyeing big moves — including investing in a shisanyama and building a hotel in Vryheid.
