The 5th Annual KWANDE Festival 2026 was officially opened today by Dr. Nkosenye Zulu, Head of Department for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), marking a vibrant start to KwaZulu-Natal’s premier creative economy event.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Zulu emphasized the festival’s broader purpose: “KWANDE Festival is more than a showcase of talent; it is a space where creativity meets opportunity. We are here to ensure that the innovation and skill on display today translate into real economic participation and sustainable growth for KwaZulu-Natal’s creative sector.”
The festival promises a dynamic program celebrating arts, culture, and entrepreneurship, strengthening the province’s orange economy.
