PIETERMARITZBURG – Men in Caluza are embracing a healthier future as the dedicated Men’s Clinic at Caluza Clinic continues to transform access to healthcare.

The clinic has seen more men visiting for HIV and TB testing, treatment, mental health support, and chronic disease care after the creation of a private and welcoming space designed to meet their needs.

Many men who previously avoided clinics because of stigma, long queues, or fear of diagnosis are now attending appointments regularly and encouraging friends and family members to do the same.

Community members say the clinic has restored their dignity and confidence, with one patient describing it as “our space” where men feel respected and comfortable.

Health officials say the initiative reflects KwaZulu-Natal’s commitment to improving men’s health and promoting positive male role models.

The Caluza Men’s Clinic is now being celebrated as a symbol of hope, showing that creating a supportive environment can encourage more men to take responsibility for their health and well-being.
