GAUTENG – What began as weeks of fear and unanswered questions has turned into a moment of relief and cautious hope for the family of Mazwi Mpumelelo Kubheka, the 27-year-old spaza shop owner who returned safely after being missing for a month.

Kubheka walked into the Vosloorus Police Station on Saturday evening, ending a search that had gripped his community since early April. His return has been described by neighbours and relatives as nothing short of a miracle.Though safe, Kubheka is said to be deeply shaken.

He is currently receiving care at Botshelong Private Hospital, where doctors are monitoring his condition and offering support as he begins to recover from the ordeal.Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi and Provincial Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni are expected to provide further updates, but for now, the focus has shifted from investigation to healing.

For Kubheka’s family, the reunion has been emotional. Loved ones who had spent sleepless nights searching and praying are now simply grateful to have him back.
