Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has outlined three key priorities he believes are essential for leadership and the well-being of the nation.Speaking at his Mashobeni Palace in Pongola yesterday, the King emphasized that loyalty to the throne is the first priority.

The second, he said, is the removal of “Natal,” and the third is the restoration of land ownership under the Ingonyama Trust. The King made these remarks during a visit from a delegation of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), which briefed him on its readiness to conduct free and fair elections in the country.

The meeting comes as South Africa prepares for the upcoming local government elections expected later this year.King Misuzulu stressed that these priorities are not only important for the royal household but also for the broader Zulu nation and its future. He called for cooperation between government institutions and traditional leadership to improve the living conditions of communities.

Meanwhile, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa is expected to announce the official election date, which is anticipated to take place in July.

Political analysts say the King’s statement could influence public sentiment ahead of the elections.
