Durban – Radio listeners are buzzing with anticipation as significant changes unfold at Gagasi FM. News Avenue has confirmed through a trusted source that Felix Hlophe will remain, while Linda Sibiya is poised to join the morning lineup.
Sibiya is set to take on an early morning slot from 4am to 6am, a key time for shaping the day ahead. Renowned for his heartfelt “home talks” during his tenure at Ukhozi FM, Sibiya has earned a reputation for inspiring and connecting with audiences. Insiders believe his addition will infuse a new sense of hope and motivation for early risers tuning into Gagasi FM.
“Incorporating Linda into any program would be challenging, as this station primarily engages with young people, but this show aimed at restoring hope will suit her perfectly,” said a source who wished to remain anonymous.
On the other hand, Hlophe’s ongoing presence is not surprising to many. The beloved host has developed a dedicated fan base, with listeners attracted to his humor and authenticity. Sources suggest that despite speculation about his move to other stations, Gagasi FM is committed to keeping him, highlighting his strong connection with the audience and his role in the station’s commercial success.
There are also rumors that traffic presenter Nokwanda Tema might be leaving the station, although this has not been confirmed.
When asked for a comment, Gagasi FM spokesperson Khulekani Shandu stated: “I cannot comment on the on-air changes at this time as negotiations are still in progress. We will hold a press conference soon.”
