The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has appointed journalist Sifiso Mahlangu as its new national spokesperson following a dramatic leadership reshuffle within the organisation.
The move comes after reports that former spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndlela was removed for allegedly misleading party leadership and issuing a public statement without authorisation.
Sources close to the party claim tensions had been escalating internally over communication and decision-making processes.
Further reports suggest Ndlela is no longer a member of the MK Party and could also lose his position in Parliament, although the party has not yet issued an official public explanation regarding his status.
The developments signal growing internal divisions within the organisation ahead of key political campaigns.
