A couple from South Africa, who escaped to the United States alleging they were victims of ‘white genocide’, is now involved in a dramatic arrest that has gone viral on social media.

Videos circulating online show businessman Peet Viljoen and his wife being taken into custody by American authorities at what seems to be a small motel-like apartment in the US. The couple had previously enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle in South Africa before moving abroad.

Viljoen, who has openly called himself a friend and supporter of former US president Donald Trump, appears shocked in the video as officers arrest him. A moment that has gained significant attention online is when a Black female detective conducts the arrest, leaving Viljoen visibly surprised.

The couple reportedly sought asylum in the US, claiming they were escaping persecution in South Africa. However, authorities suggest that they may have been involved in defrauding millions of rand from unsuspecting South Africans through dubious financial activities.

Investigations into the alleged fraud are still ongoing, with officials in both countries reportedly working together.

The viral video has ignited a heated discussion on social media, with many people questioning the couple’s previous claims of persecution and their abrupt transition from a life of luxury to being detained in the United States.
