South Africa’s football passion will take centre stage internationally after Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie unveiled a vibrant group of 16 supporters selected to represent the country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.The chosen fans reflect the diversity and deep-rooted loyalty within local football, spanning clubs such as Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu FC.
From township grounds to packed stadiums, these supporters embody the spirit of Mzansi football culture.
Among those selected are Bonakale Hlengiwe Nzuza (Orlando Pirates), Sebe Thusi (TS Galaxy), Adam Mtombeni and Vennitious “PapaWawa” Motswi (Kaizer Chiefs), Konelo John Tahlo (Siwelele), Ndumiso Zondi (AmaZulu), Ernest Jacobs (Stellenbosch), Hlekulani Kobe (Magesi), Happiness Dumakude (Golden Arrows), Obakeng Mokgara and Mamello Constance Makha (Mamelodi Sundowns), Mickey Seroke Mokone (Orbit College), Adam Schlosberg (Chippa United), Thaven Pillay (Durban City), Salmaan Khan (Richards Bay), and Tshegofatso Sello (Marumo Gallants).
Special attention has been drawn to AmaZulu supporter Ndumiso Zondi, whose unwavering dedication to his club has earned him national recognition.
Zondi is expected to carry Durban’s football pride onto the global stage, symbolising the voice of Usuthu faithful.
The initiative aims to showcase not just South African football, but its unmatched fan culture. As the countdown to 2026 begins, these supporters will serve as ambassadors of unity, passion and pride — ensuring Mzansi is seen and heard across the world.
