KZN PREMIER MOURNS PASSING OF SENIOR ZULU PRINCE

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has expressed deep sorrow following the death of senior Zulu royal, uMntwana Gibizizwe kaQadulana kaSolomon, who passed away on 11 April at the age of 67.In a statement released on Thursday, Ntuli described the late prince as a devoted servant of the Zulu Monarchy who served with distinction and humility under two kings.

He highlighted uMntwana Gibizizwe’s unwavering commitment during the reigns of King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu and the current monarch, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.“uMntwana Gibizizwe was a pillar of strength and continuity within the Royal Family. His role in organising traditional ceremonies helped preserve cultural heritage and promote social cohesion across communities,” Ntuli said.

The Premier extended condolences on behalf of the provincial government to King Misuzulu, the Royal Family, and the broader Zulu nation, describing the loss as one that goes beyond the royal household.“We mourn alongside His Majesty and the nation at large. This is a significant loss not only for the Royal Family but for the entire province and country,” Ntuli added.

uMntwana Gibizizwe will be laid to rest on Saturday at oSuthu, near the eNyokeni Royal Palace in KwaNongoma.Provincial officials have urged the public to keep the Royal Family in their thoughts during this period of mourning.
